Yet Another Chapter....

Well....where do I begin?!?!! It's been a long time since we've posted anything on our blog, but I think now would be an appropriate time to update inquiring minds as to what's happening in our life lately.

The above picture outlines the theme of our upcoming adventure. That's right, we are headed BACK to Abbotsford. I (Julia) am returning to Summit to complete my Music Degree. We are hoping that this can be done in a year and a half, but we are also open to the possibilty that it may take 2 years.

With this new journey comes the closing of a very significant door in our life. Parksville has been our life for a year and 7 months now. We have met a lot of wonderful people here and it is going to be sad for us to leave them.

CHOSEN YOUTH GROUP...

You ALL need to know that we love you guys and we are going to miss you ALL soooo much. If we could leave you with one thing it would be this; Don't give up on God, He has NOT given up and will not give up on you ever!!!

THE MEIER FAMILY...

Man, who would've thought that our time living so close together would be so short-lived? We need to tell you that we have LOVED the times we've spent together. We have most definitely found in you friends that will remain in our lives FOREVER!!! Just because we are leaving the island, you haven't gotten rid of us! (*smile*)

Mercy & Dawson -- we promise that one day we will have kids that you will be able to play with!! We love you guys so much! We need you to promise us that you will make sure that mommy and daddy bring you to Abbotsford to visit us!!!

There are PLENTY of more good times to come you guys. We WILL have our camping trip to Seattle and we WILL go to Six Flags!!! We love you so much and we definitely WILL miss being so close to you!!! xoxoxoxoxo

MIKE AND AMY BOOMER...

Well guys -- I'm sure we don't need to tell you again how much you both mean to us!!! We have had some really good times together. We really hope that those good times will continue even though we will be a little further away! We love you guys and we are going to miss you. Even though we didn't see each other as much as we would've hoped, knowing that we won't just be able to meet up for supper will be hard! I know that our paths will meet again because you guys are very special to us!!! xoxoxoxo

JIM & ELAINE...

Well you guys -- what can we say? It's been a ride!! We love you guys and have enjoyed working alongside you. Family bonds aren't easily broken and so we know that you will forever be a huge part of our lives!!! We love you and are going to miss you. We will think about you especially on Wednesday mornings when we eat our breakfast without you!

And to all of our other friends who have been with us during this chapter in our life here on the Island (you know who you are)! Know that also are going to be missed. We have made many crazy memories here together and they will never be forgotten!!

STAY TUNED FOR MORE UPDATES...

Questions from the book of Life...Part 1

Why do bad things happen to good ppl?

What does full reliance in God look like?

How does the church communicate effectively in today's world?

Here are just a couple of questions that I have been working over the last little while, what do you think?

The Zseder's

Transparency 101

In leadership being transparent is a good thing, however I learned a few weeks ago that there are only a certain number of ppl with whom one can be completly transparent with. I say this b/c a friend of mine opened my eyes to the fact that in a position of leadership it can almost be seen as a type of manipulation. So I ask you my fellow bloggers / friends...
How transparent is too transparent?
Who is it that you can be totally "real" with, without cause for "manipulation"?
Just a few questions to ponder, and a response would be nice as well...
Peace

Shout Out from 2006...

It is time for a new beginning, and as I write this I hope to blog at least once every two weeks simply b/c what is the point of having a blog and never ever updating it??? Yes and up to right now I have royally sucked at it. But I am hoping to turn over a new leaf and turn the page on a few things in my life so as to not have to travel down the same road as we have this last year. Last year at this time Julia and I had just pulled our wonderful U-Haul (with car intow) up to the church parking lot. We were excited to not only be back in BC (me more then Julia I thinks, but excited none the less) but to also be in a position working with people that we love. This year has brought with it alot of change most good but some have been a bit disappointing. Needless to say here a few shout outs for the last year...
Trevor and Ginny Kempner (plus 2) You guys are amazing and we will miss you tonnes!!! Vernon is extremely lucky to grab ahold of such an amazing God-centered family, thanks for everything
Mike and Amy Boomer You guys rock and hopefully b4 you make the wonderful trek down under (Victoria) we can maybe hang a bit more...thanks so much for everything you guys mean the world to us
Jaz and Les...No words can express what a blessing you guys have been to us...Thank you
Paul and Wanda...I would have called while we were passing through Van. but I dont have your number (apparently we arent as close as we should be) Vive La Newfie Land!!!
Stan and Michelle...WHY? Why when we move back here do you guys pack up and leave WHY? Miss you tonnes and love you more!!
Psegs, Megs and Val...Thank you ladies for simply being you, you girls are awesome
Falconer and Special "K"...Where would I (we) be without you two in our lives?? I dont know, thank you so much for everything!!!
and to anyone else that I missed sorry (but there is always the shout out for next yr.) there are too many ppl and not enough time anyways love you all.
I will close with a quote... "Let us not glide through this world and then slip quietly into heaven, without having blown the trumpet loud and long for our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Let us see to it that teh devil will hold a thanksgiving service in hell when he gets the news of our departure from the field of battle." - C.T. Studd

Well I didn't ever think I would be writing about something like this, but here goes NOTHING... It all started early one Sunday morning. I woke up to the sound of the radio, swung my feet over the edge of the bed and then proceeded with my regular Sunday morning routine. As I climbed into the shower, I began thinking about what this day would hold. There was a lot of things supposed to happen, and most of them without fail proceeded as planned. There came a few hick-ups in my daily routine however. Julia and I were getting ready to head down to Ladysmith for Trevor and Ginny's farewell dinner, however, before that happened, we found outselves entertaining a few of our youth at the local A&W. So, this marks #1 meal at a fastfood joint for the day. (Keep that in mind). We made it to the farewell dinner and I (without rhyme or reason) decided that I was still hungry so I made my way to the tables filled with all sorts of "pot-luck style" dishes. Anyways, let me continue. The farewell dinner was great, the food...a little questionable, but that's what you get when you go to church planned pot-lucks. Our friends, Mike & Amy and ourselves were invited back to Trevor & Ginny's afterwards. As we were leaving however, the majority of that party of four (Boomer's & Zseder's) ruled in favor of going through the drive-thru somewhere. We ended up at KFC & McDonald's (# 2 stop for the day now). We then went and awaited the arrival of the Kempner's at their place. We had eaten and relaxed a bit by the time they came home. After hanging out for a bit, someone (Ginny)gently mentioned that she was hungry. This then caused MY stomach to join in with the hunger, however, I decided NOT to mention that at the time. Us guys were elected to go and pick up some food. So there we are at McDonald's once again and a false sense of hunger pains rushed through my body. So I was inclined to purchase ANOTHER meal. Now, if you've been following carefully you would know that this is now #3 meal for the day at a fast-food joint. So, now you must be asking, where am I going with this??? I'm getting there...bare with me. We proceeded to hang out and have a good time throughout the night talking about EVERYTHING under the sun (don't worry Gin, I won't say anything). haha. So, as we left the company of our great friends, it wasn't long (and yes, here comes the climax of this fine story and an explination for that piture above) before nature ran its course and the THREE fast-food meals of that day decided to not only haunt me, but also haunt my wife!!! Mike and Amy dropped us off at the parking lot of the church where we picked up our own car. I must warn you now, if you are of weak stomach, you may not want to keep reading. It happened in a matter of seconds...but as I unlocked the car door and proceeded to climb in, a peculiar smell eroded from my prosterior. I thought I was ok because I was still outside the car. However.....I got into the car only to HEAR my wife gagging. Yes, that is right, I managed to make my wife gag because of a smell that I created. Before we made it to the stop sign, I had put the car in park, pushed the button to ignite my hazzards, and watched my wife open the door and contaminate the streets of ladysmith with her own vomit!!! Needless to say, we won't be frequenting any fast-food places for a while, or at least not 3 of them in one day!!! Learn from my mistakes please...

Wow Does a Week Change your Life or What?

Well well, we left for a few days on the mainland and before we got back things on the island have spun wildly out of control...First of all I need to say that the week we spent in Abbotsford was awesome, we got to see lots of friends from the school, played a football game (OH YEAH), ate too much, had two parties one for my B E A utiful wife and one for my recently engaged and younger (although taller) brother!! Then we picked up our friend Justin and travelled to the ferry. I must say I love driving in Vancouver it is soo much fun the people who like to drive right up your rear end...I love them the most (sarcasm much?) Anyways about being back on the amazing isle of vancouver...things have changed dramatically in our lives over the last few weeks. Two of our friends who also work in ministry on this wonderful isle of ours have recently resigned their positions and are moving on...We love you guys and we will miss you tonnes. People come in and out of your lives, but friends leave footprints in your heart for eternity. Trevor n' Ginny you are some of those friends...Mike and Amy you are too. Anyways that is all for tonight. This is the Zseder's signing off...Goodnight

MISSIN THE FOLKS...

Well this is actually the SECOND time that I've tried posting this "lovely" entry. Yeah I am a blog virgin!!! I posted it and it looked absolutely ridiculous because I needed the picture to be centered.....seriously. Then, along with the help of my blogging tutor, who due to security purposes must remain nameless, came to the rescue. I like to call him the "[blog] life-saver". So I will take this moment to thank him.
But of course I'm writing to let you all know that I have a love-hate relationship with Thanksgiving this year. I mean, the love part is by far the part where I get to eat LOTS of turkey (newfie style of course..you can ask later). The hate part is the part that doesn't get to spend it with my family. I mean Mike's family were here and that was great....but just not the same. So, needless to say, I am REALLY missing my mom, my dad and my brother. Oh don't be so surprised Chad!! HA. This living on the complete other side of the country really stinks sometimes you know. Do any of you really know what I'm talking about???
PEACE.
